1982年7月，获上海华东师范大学理学（地理）学士学位
1986年5月，以“最优秀”（Summa Cum Laude, i.e. Greatest Distinction）成绩获比利时布鲁塞尔自由大学人口学博士学位
1986-1987年在美国普林斯顿大学从事博士后研究，并获得博士后研修证书。
