罗正荣，男，1962年4月4日生于湖北省沔阳县（现仙桃市）；果树学博士；华中农业大学果树学教授、博士研究生指导教师

研究成果：（1）基本阐明大别山区稀有甜柿和完全雄性种质的起源、传播途径和分布现状；（2）基本阐明中国甜柿自然脱涩性状的生理机理及其育种应用途径；（3）利用我国特有的自然脱涩基因受显性基因控制的完全甜柿为亲本、常规杂交与现代生物技术和分子标记结合，建立了一套快速遗传改良技术体系（育种周期由20－25年缩短至7－8年）；（4）利用脱落的柿幼果和制作柿饼后遗弃的柿皮为原料，开发出含柿单宁的金属吸附剂，可用于电子垃圾中贵金属和重金属的选择性吸附和高效回收。
